Hello!

I would like to take this time to familiarize you with my personal history, as well as my goals for you or your child's musical education.

I was fortunate enough to be born into an incredibly musical family. My Mother, Father and Grandfather were all professional musicians. Consequently, my formal musical education began at the early age of four. I studied classical piano at the Detroit Conservatory of Music with Lawrence LaGore as my private instructor. Mr.LaGore was a highly respected classical pianist in the Detroit area who was also the head of the Detroit chapter of the Pro Mozart Society for many years. My formal education also included many summers at Interlochen Center for the Arts in northern Michigan. At the age of sixteen I changed direction and began to study jazz with Matt Michaels. Mr. Michaels was the head of Jazz Studies at Wayne State University, and was a staple in Detroit's great jazz history.

Over the years, I have played in many different types of bands and groups. I enjoy doing recording and arranging work, and have performed solo and as an accompanist. Currently my main focus is on education and doing work for friends and family. 

I believe that musical education should be an enriching and rewarding experience to the student, as well as the teacher. I teach all of my students as individuals and gear their instruction on their personal abilities and goals. I stress a well rounded curriculum including practical theory, ear training, technique skills and music history,
